Beauty technology, at home

A practical starting point for reading home-device documentation.

Reading home device documentation

Home devices use the same technology names as professional platforms: RF, LED, ultrasound, IPL. Their output and usage intervals are designed for unsupervised use, so a shared technology name does not describe shared performance. Read the output units and measurement conditions product by product.

This section starts with how to read manuals, certification records and included parts rather than with product reviews. We do not present a device we have not used as a hands-on review.

Questions for your reading list

  • What output units does the manual state, and under what measurement conditions?
  • Are the recommended interval and per-session duration stated?
  • Does the documentation separate electrical safety certification from medical device status?
  • Are the replacement interval and price of consumables published?

Articles in this section are published after their sources are checked. Until then this page stays out of search results.
